On 25 June, six LEAP students —all highly experienced teachers and professional dancers— will arrive in South Africa to work with young dancers in the townships of Gugulethu, Nyanga, Langa and Khayelitsha. In partnership with Dance for All in Cape Town, these LEAP students will design and produce an on-site dance intensive that includes movement classes as well as repertory and choreographic workshops.
DFA’s Annual Performance takes place on Saturday 15 December 2012 at the Joseph Stone Theatre in Athlone. This year, due to popular demand, there are two shows: at 14:00 and 19:00. Tickets cost R35 for adults and R20 for children 2yrs till 16yrs.
Dance for All’s Mission is to provide children in historically disadvantaged communities with the opportunity for enjoyment, empowerment and promotion of self esteem through the medium of dance, as well as training professional dancers and developing a unique, indigenous dance company.
