DFA has been selected as one of the first beneficiaries of a new partnership between UNESCO's Programme for the Education of Children in Need and the REPETTO Foundation. REPETTO is a famous French dancewear company and to celebrate its 60th Anniversary in October produced a series of unique dance items "customised" by famous artists (Marion Cotillard, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Brigitte Bardot, Carla Bruni, to name just a few). After a one-year exhibition of these articles in major cities around the world an auction will take place in Paris in October 2008, and the proceedings of this auction will be given to the Programme for the Education of Children in Need in support of three projects using artistic education as a reintegration tool, those being: Dance for All in South Africa, EDISCA in Brazil and Vocational Workshops for Art in Cuba. Young dancers from all three projects will travel to Paris to perform at the auction in October.
