The Cuban dancers' visit in early May was a wonderful cross-cultural event.

During their visit to Cape Town, the Cuban teachers conducted workshops at Dance for All and the Kapa studios in Tokai, as well as at the UCT School of Dance. Dancers from all these institutions had the wonderful opportunity of having ballet classes with these fine teachers and the head of the National Ballet School Marta Iris together with Ana Julia Bermudez de Castro Valcarel and Elena Cangas Martinez.
   
Dance for All "The Company" - new and exciting changes

Dance for All Youth Company (DFAYC) has been re-established with a new name which is Dance for All 'The Company' (DFA'The Company). Over the past few months auditions have been held in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Eleven new and vibrant dancers have been chosen to join our new company who all come from varied diverse backgrounds. These are the new artistic voice of the future. WATCH THIS SPACE!
   
Former DFA student Thandumzi Moyakhe dies at a tender age

December 2008

Thandumzi Moyakhe, known to all of us at Dance for All as Duzi, started his dance training at the Sivuyile College in Gugulethu when he was about 11 years old. From the beginning it appeared Duzi had a real passion for his dancing, never missed a dance class and had full support from his whole family.
   
Teachers Dance Association Eisteddfod

22 August - 5 September 2009

The Junior Ballet Programme took part in the Teachers Dance Association Eisteddfod which started 22 August until 5th September and did extremely well. The Sub-Juniors performed - ` The Farmyard' and received a Diploma and danced in the finals. The Juniors performed - ` Lazy Afternoon' and received Honours, into the finals - which they won. Congratulations to all who participated, we are very proud of you.
